Dumpling Days

Although Pacy Lin’s parents are Taiwanese, Pacy has never gone to Taiwan and doesn’t want to. But her parents are taking their whole family (them, Pacy, Lissy, and Ki-ki) to Taiwan for a whole month. When they get there, Pacy just eats a bunch of dumplings, because she (and her siblings) have no idea how to speak Chinese, while their parents do know. They (Pacy, Lissy, and Ki-ki) also have classes. Pacy and Lissy hate their classes, calligraphy (Lissy) and Chinese art (Pacy) but Ki-ki loves hers, paper cutting. But soon, Taiwan is slowly becoming like home to the girls, and they begin to feel sad when they have to go. I love this interesting and wonderful story of how people get used to and get to know their parents’ homeland.
