Feathers is a reassuring book written by Jacqueline Woodson. Frannie Barnes is a sixth-grade girl with a deaf brother. One day, a mysterious boy, nicknamed the Jesus Boy, joins her class. What is this obviously white boy doing in the black area?
Not all people are Christian. Not all people have someone looking holy entering their classroom every day. But all people need hope in their lives, just like Frannie. People in everyday life should learn from this book and enjoy all seconds of their lives, and I should too.
Despite the good aspects of this book, I didn’t love it. Sure, it was pretty nice. At the same time, though, it was a bit boring. Honestly, there isn’t much more to say. There wasn’t enough of a good storyline or anything for me to get hooked. I can’t remember much from the book.
