I’ve had my doubts about this webtoon. After my disappointing read of True Beauty, I wasn’t sure if I was ready to read another one focused purely on romance.
Luckily, Marry My Husband has not disappointed me. It’s only over forty episodes in, but thus far, it’s been quite fun. Most importantly, it’s romantic but not sappy, and the art is absolutely stunning. There are also added aspects to it that spice it up a bit, such as time travel and thriller, which keep my nerves up and my adreneline going. Revenge, too, is a central theme. Is it really that important for Jiwon Kang to take retribution on her killers? To what extent? And after Jiwon has gotten her vengeance, what will she choose to do? Will there still be a purpose in life? At last, it’s no longer centered on a generic love triangle, but the rise of Jiwon and her changing, twisting fate. Although she travels back in time, there are still surprises and new moments waiting in store for her.
