7.29.23 – Lagging behind severely (by a month)
Hey, it’s been a while. As you’ve probably noticed, I haven’t posted a book review in a while. That’s due to a large workload recently, composed of tons of applications to write and contests to enter.
But as the days pass like a rapid river, I have realized how little I respect and value this time, the rarest resource of all. So I have decided to disconnect myself from the frenzy of homework, which makes the days seem even shorter, and take some time to come back to writing and reading, especially now that school is nearing an end, and summer is just around the corner. Furthermore, my writing class just concluded, freeing up my time to write and read anything I want.
So I’m starting a 50-day review challenge, in which I will try to write a review daily by first catching up with the ones I’ve lagged tremendously behind on. Simultaneously, I’ll probably be working on some fanfictions or one-shots and drafting a story while catching up on my TBR list. This way, I can practice my writing skills while recording my 13-year-old opinions on certain books to preserve as a memory.
However, there are many days in June, July, and August when I won’t be able to write, so it won’t be a consecutive challenge, but rather chopped up. But every day that I can review, I will.
My reviews will cover a wide variety of media; I expect it to be mainly books, shows, dramas, and webtoons, maybe fanfictions if I get to them. This time, I’m taking on the challenge of reviewing a few series, which have always been quite difficult for me; however, it should be easier now that I have set opinions on most of them. I’m still refraining from reviewing Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings though, as well as my Chinese book series. Additionally, I’ll be testing out a new feature: recommended age range.
