Pansy is a girl who is in fifth grade. But her best friend, Anna, caught a disease in Girl Scouts Camp and got brain damage. When Pansy finds out that there is a brain surgery to cure Anna, she decides to be the best friend Anna ever had. Before, there were many things that Pansy chickened out but promised to do to Anna, so she decides to do all of them in return for Anna. She faces her fears, such as ice skating and Girl Scouts. But at the end, she finds out there is no way to completely cure Anna. Pansy thinks she will never have her best friend back again, that the new Anna is just a shell of the old one. But Pansy makes new friends, and learns that Anna is at least better than before.

    Hi Bookworm!

I was so happy to run across your review of my book, Extraordinary. How awesome that you have already reviewed 50 books on your website! You must love to read and write like I do. I noticed you were interested in books about Chinese characters so I wanted to mention that you might enjoy Emily Out of Focus, my latest book about a girl who travels to China to adopt her little sister and ends up helping another girl search for her birth mom.

If you have any questions about my book or writing for publication, please feel free to email me directly. I love to see young readers taking such an active role in sharing books they enjoy!
